No one really hires or deals with a law firm. They hire or deal with individual lawyers. All Vanguard® matters are performed or very closely supervised and managed by one of two partners (who also are partners in life), Jeff Schneider and Deidre Schneider.
Jeffrey A. Schneider
Jeff Schneider is the Managing Partner of Vanguard®Law Group, LLP, where he counsels clients in connection with real estate and business transactions and negotiates and documents complex transactions and relationships. For over 22 years, Jeff has devoted his career to commercial real estate and related business transactions (as lawyer or principal), mostly in the capacity as counsel to real estate developers, investors, and lenders. He has been responsible for closing over a billion dollars worth of real estate transactions, including complex financing, development, acquisition, sales, exchange, leasing, syndication, hotel, and redevelopment transactions, as well as loan and lease workouts and loan pool acquisitions and dispositions.
Jeff is rated A-V by the independent Martindale-Hubbell service. This rating is the highest rating awarded to an attorney as to both legal ability and ethics. For over a 15 years, Jeff has been an adjunct law professor at California Western School of Law. He also regularly teaches lawyers and other professionals on behalf of various industry and legal organizations. Jeff is one of the founders and regular faculty for the annual Real Estate Boot Camp sponsored by the California State Bar.
Jeff served as the Chairman of the California State Bar Real Property Section, Chair of the California State Bar’s Commercial and Development Subsection, Chair of the San Diego County Bar's Real Property Section, and Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association. He also is author of the textbook entitled Business Franchise Law.
For over a decade, Jeff has regularly presided as a temporary judge and has arbitrated disputes between lawyers and their clients. He was nominated by the Governor of California and then appointed by the President of the United States to serve on the Selective Service Board.
Graduating with honors from Stanford University, Jeff went on to graduate from Stanford Law School, where he was Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review and Vice President of the Law Students Association. He has been a licensed real estate broker since before he became a lawyer.
In 1993, Jeff began running a nonprofit corporation that develops housing for the mentally-ill homeless. He also actively serves as President-Elect of the Board of Trustees of The Children’s School of La Jolla. Jeff has received many state and local awards for his public service.
Jeff lives in San Diego with his wife, two daughters, and a hilarious dog. In his rare spare time, Jeff runs, swims, and bikes (all slowly) and camps with his girls. He recently completed running a Marathon without hospitalization.
Deidre Schneider Deidre Schneider is a Partner in Vanguard®Law Group, LLP, where she serves clients in connection with real estate and business transactions, with an emphasis on tax and corporate matters. For over 18 years, Deidre has devoted her career to serving clients in various aspects of the law, primarily in the tax and corporate arena. She previously was a lawyer with the international law firm of Latham & Watkins, before agreeing to help form Vanguard®Law Group, LLP in 2001. Deidre's range of experience is broad, having been involved with some of the largest and most complex business transactions in the U.S., as well as some of the smallest and simplest. She recognizes the need to tailor legal services to the needs of the specific client and transaction. Deidre often is focused on those areas of transactions that involve special tax considerations and planning and the securities and investor issues. Graduating from Stanford University, Deidre went on to attend law school at the University of California at Davis. She is admitted to the Tax Court and a member of various bar associations. Deidre lives in San Diego with her husband, two daughters, and her canine side-kick. In her rare spare time, Deidre enjoys her family, friends, music, and pumping iron.
